September brings the close of summer. Yes, it’s still warm, but there’s a hint of fall in the air. Kids are heading back to school (or already there), and while you might think things are winding down — well, if living in Spain has taught you anything, it’s that the party is just getting started.

This month is all about wine. The vendimia (grape harvest) has wrapped up in some towns and is still underway in others, making September the perfect moment to celebrate all things vino. And where better to do that than in Jerez, home to one of Andalusia’s most important wine festivals?

But that’s just the beginning:

The program, coordinated by the University of Cádiz and led artistically by Juan Sebastián Domínguez, highlights the city’s rich archaeological heritage. Don’t miss the opening on 19 September at Plaza de San Juan de Dios and the closing show on 28 September at Plaza de la Constitución.
