May is here, and we’re turning up the flavor, fun, and feria vibes in Cádiz! This month, we’re diving into local culture with events that celebrate the best of spring. We’re kicking things off with a rejuvenating Yoga Event, followed by our ever-popular Patio Tours in El Puerto, giving you a behind-the-scenes look at the town’s most charming courtyards—bursting with color, history, and local pride. Then there’s the Tuna Tasting Experience, where you’ll savor exquisite almadraba bluefin tuna at the height of its season.
We’re also continuing our Cooking Classes at Viña La Torre, where you’ll roll up your sleeves and learn to prepare classic Andalusian dishes using fresh, seasonal ingredients. And don’t forget—every Friday night at The Company Room we’re shaking things up with a rotating lineup of exclusive cocktail tastings—sherry, gin, tiki, and more—all in a speakeasy-style setting.
Of course, Feria season is in full swing, filling the streets with flamenco, music, dancing, and rebujito. And one of my personal favorite events: the Tuna Festivals, taking over Barbate, Conil, Zahara, and Tarifa—each one celebrating the coast’s most iconic catch with local flair.

Every spring, Cádiz celebrates the Ruta del Atún (Tuna Route), a delicious festival honoring the Almadraba-caught bluefin tuna with creative tapas, tastings, and culinary events across coastal towns like Zahara de los Atunes and Barbate. It’s a must for seafood lovers and a great way to dive into the region’s ancient fishing traditions and bold local flavors.
The Fiesta de los Patios, Association of Friends of the Patios, in El Puerto de Santa María is a celebration rich in tradition, local pride, history, and artistry, where neighbors open the doors of their historic homes in Barrio Alto to showcase beautifully decorated patios. This vibrant event, fueled by the passion of over 500 residents, turns the town into a living museum—offering visitors an intimate glimpse into the cultural heritage and hidden treasures of the Bay’s upper heart.
features 41 participating establishments, each offering a tapa inspired by traditional Cádiz stews, with customers voting for the top three. This year, the route has been extended to 10 days due to high demand, and both winning restaurants and one lucky voter will receive generous prizes, including cash and product packages from sponsors like Osborne, Makro, Prisalba, and Hostelclinic.
