Jerez

Get ready for a week celebrating one of Jerez’s most iconic treasures — its wine! The city comes alive with tastings, vineyard tours, and cultural experiences that honor centuries of winemaking tradition.

From historic wineries to cozy tabancos, Jerez invites locals and visitors alike to savor, feel, and celebrate its world-famous sherry — pairing it with the rich gastronomy of the region for an unforgettable experience.

ZAMBOMBAS

Experience one of Andalusia’s most joyful Christmas traditions! The Zambombas de Jerez bring together flamenco, festive spirit, and community in a celebration that lights up the city every Advent weekend. Originating from neighborhood gatherings where friends and families sang villancicos (Christmas carols) around a fire, today these vibrant street parties fill Jerez with rhythm, wine, and joy — from cozy tabancos to lively plazas.

*The 2025 event schedule hasn’t been released yet — but once we get closer to November 21st, the official link will update with all the details and activities for this year’s celebrations.

La Ruta de Mosto

  • 🍇 Mosto is freshly pressed grape juice that hasn’t yet fermented into wine — sweet, fruity, and full of natural grape flavor. After the harvest season, locals celebrate with La Ruta del Mosto, visiting bars, tabancos, and ventas to enjoy tastings and seasonal tapas.

The most traditional spots are Trebujena and Jerez de la Frontera, the epicenters of this beloved tradition, followed by Sanlúcar de Barrameda, El Puerto de Santa María, Chipiona, and Chiclana de la Frontera. These establishments serve mosto fresco at its finest, especially during autumn and winter, offering a cozy, festive way to experience Cádiz’s local culture. I highly recomend stoping at one of these local spots where you can stop to try Mosto. Here is a list in and around Jerez where you can find Mosto.
