Happy Three Kings Day and officially the end of Spanish Christmas 🎉👑 Does anyone else feel like the holidays have gone on just a bit too long? Don’t get me wrong, I love a good celebration but I’m not mad about getting back into a routine… and I’m definitely not mad about not seeing another box of chocolates or polvorones for a while (seriously, there are so many).
The new year is here, and January in Cádiz does not mean hibernation, quite the opposite.
Highlights you won’t want to miss:
We’re excited to announce a few walking tours in Cádiz for those of you who haven’t yet explored the capital city properly. Join us for a 2.5-hour fun, history- and culture-filled walk, packed with stories, local life, and a proper introduction to one of Europe’s oldest cities.
We’re also rolling out a very special experience combining a Pasarela Flamenca fashion show with a sherry tasting. Yes, I know — the flamenco fashion show has come early this year, but it’s one of our absolute favorite events, and I’m confident it’ll become one of yours too. Trust me: fashion, flamenco vibes, and sherry is a winning combo.
On top of that, Cádiz officially starts warming up for pre-Carnaval festivities this month, which means food, music, coplas, and a city slowly losing its indoor voice. Don’t miss it!
Meanwhile, The Company Room is in full swing with events every Friday evening, and don’t forget the updated schedule: all tastings now run from 7pm to 9pm.

👑 Monday, January 6th – Three Kings Day (Día de los Reyes Magos) This is the real Christmas in Spain. Parades, candy flying through the air, kids losing their minds, and gifts galore. Roscón de Reyes appears on every table — someone gets the bean, someone gets the crown, and everyone eats too much. Christmas officially ends… Finally!

🥁💃Pre Carnival Festivities Cádiz
Experience Cádiz as it warms up for Carnaval! The pre-Carnaval fiestas bring music, food, and sharp humor into the streets with events like the Pestiñada and Ostionada, where free local treats, wine, and the first coplas (musica satire) of the year set the tone for what’s coming. Add the start of the COAC (Concurso Oficial de Agrupaciones Carnavalescas, the official Carnaval competition in Cádiz) at the Gran Teatro Falla and the city officially shifts into Carnaval mode — loud, witty, delicious, and impossible to ignore.
10 Jan - Pestiñada Popular: Free pestiños, local wine, and the first coplas of the year in Plaza Fragela officially kick off pre-Carnaval and quietly murder all good intentions.
25 Jan – Ostionada Popular: Plaza de San Antonio fills with oysters, cold fingers, loud coplas, and the unmistakable smell of Cádiz doing winter correctly.
El Puerto de Santa Mária
18–19 Jan – San Antón Pilgrimage for Pets 🐾🌿 Celebrate one of Andalusia’s most charming traditions as El Puerto hosts the Romería de San Antón in the Pinares de la Puntilla! Locals gather with dogs, cats, and the occasional very confused pet to honor the patron saint of animals, with blessings, food, music, and a laid-back countryside vibe.
Pasarela Flamenca - Returns, celebrating its 19th anniversary, the Pasarela Flamenca Tío Pepe, at Bodegas González Byass. This renowned event showcases flamenco fashion, craftsmanship, culture, music, dance, and gastronomy in a unique setting.
