September is here, and while summer may technically be coming to an end, Cádiz is entering one of its most exciting seasons: la vendimia! 🍇🍷
September is traditionally the month of the grape harvest, when vineyards across the region come alive with picking, pressing, and the transformation of grapes into wine. It’s a fantastic time to explore the wine country around Cádiz, learn more about the region’s unique terroir, and, of course, enjoy a glass or two along the way!

While Jerez and its famous sherry bodegas often steal the spotlight, Cádiz is also home to some incredible boutique wineries producing exceptional still wines.

🏛️🌎 Cádiz: Emporio del Orbe
From 11–20 September, Cádiz will also be celebrating another fascinating chapter of its incredible history!
As part of the Orgullos@s de Nuestra Historia cultural programme, the city will look back at the period when Cádiz became an important gateway between Spain and the New World, celebrating its role as the “Emporio del Orbe” (1493–1804).
A fantastic excuse to get out and discover even more of Cádiz's fascinating history!

👶 A Little Update From Us...
September will be a little quieter for Discover Cádiz this year, as I’ll be heading off on maternity leave! ❤️
We won't be running our usual events during this time, but don't worry—we'll be back up and active with tours again in November!
So, if you have family or friends visiting over the winter holidays and they're interested in discovering Cádiz, tasting incredible local food and wine, or exploring some of the region's hidden gems, now is the perfect time to start booking ahead of our next peak season.
Whether it's tapas in Cádiz, a visit to a traditional sherry bodega, exploring the beautiful white villages, or discovering the vineyards of the province, we'll be ready to welcome you back this winter.
